drummers be seen

Simon Wolstencroft of The G-O-D interview for the Drummers be Seen project.

What a gent Simon is, we met in Night & Day Manchester ( yes it was raining ) for a chat about all things punk, drums and his book.

Funky Si as he's known to Jonny Marr covered stories about the early bands he played in, a few you might know.....The Smiths and a band which included Ian Brown and John Squire who went on to form a band called The Stone Roses. He's time in Manchesters cult band The Fall and his current band The G-O-D.

Loads more stories in his book - You Can Drum but You Can't Hide, in re-print but can be ordered here

Simon plays Ludwig, and hope to catch some video of him in action soon, but for now I've added some gig stills.

The G-O-D have just released a 3 track EP available to buy bit.ly/2lblZ7u follow them on twitter.com/TheGODmcr for show and festival dates.

Joel Kay interviews for the Drummers Be Seen project

Joel Kay interviews for the Drummers Be Seen project.

Was lucky to spend a couple of hours the other week with one of the best drummers in the Manchester area, mr Joel Kay. I've known Joel for about 5 years now, and was so looking forward to recording his play and thoughts on being a drummer.

The idea of the Drummers Be Seen project was to make a quick 10 min video with a bit of drumming followed by band chat and talk about the kit......but sometimes, and this was one of them times, I just can't cut out the advise and insight an artist gives. So this ended up being 3 videos!

Thanks Joel.
