Another new venue for me, over in sunny but chilly by the sea Hull. And what a great night was had by all.

I'm not a music reviewer, as you know by now - was shite at English and words puzzle me so stick with it.....my review is more about the gig, the venue and the crowd usually, but I must just open with Sealford Mods are an act everyone must see live! A two piece with a laptop as an instrument playing the beats and Jason the lead singer painting with words (sounding like a music reviewer more and more) For me they have a feel of the Sex Pistols - not musically, but attitude to the music industry and life. Must see them again, but until then I'll add a few images of the show and add a youtube video link.

Support was by the now must have gig wordsmith JB Barrington, and having seen him 4 or 5 times over the past 12 months or so, this for me was the perfect performance and opener. It was great to see and hear the crowd take note and join in....many of them knowing the words. As a photographer, getting in the way at the front of stage I often get asked by the crowed about the acts, and "where can we get merch and stuff" and this night I had loads asking about JB. Spoken word, poet or comedian........ real life observer? one things for sure, he's an artist and a good lad. I'll add a few images and links at the footer, go check him out yeah.

So having reviewed the acts, well kind of (I know stick to pressing buttons and all that) lets get on to the venue and crowd. Fruit Space in Hull, down by the old Fruit Market in the dock area. Was a first visit, and I was impressed, not too big - not sure of capacity, as a guess 250. Didn't really get to witness the lighting, or sound quality in a band format, but what I heard was clean and no mix ups or drop outs. The crowd, was up for it well done Hull. For an end of month midweek gig, I was pleased to see it fill up early and they played their part in the gig, listened when they should and danced when a must.

A good night, with acts on the up in a venue with atmosphere. Loved it, cheers.
